Still the BBQ season in Pleasant Hill

Soroptimist International’s local chapter is inviting community members to its annual fundraising event in Pleasant Hill this weekend.

The ‘Two-Bit Auction and BBQ Dinner’ is an open fundraising event taking place at the Back Forty Texas BBQ. Tickets to the auction and dinner are $50 a person, but bidders should not need to bring too much money for the auction. Attendees are encouraged to only bring a few rolls of quarters for the auction, and, of course, their appetites for the delicious barbecue dinner.

Soroptimist International is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of girls and women, both in the local community and around the world. The local chapter was founded in 2005, when three smaller branches merged into one. Since then, it has founded scholarship programs, sponsored and participated in community service projects, celebrated local leaders with awards, and worked hard to spread awareness in their neighborhoods.

The event begins at 6:00 pm with cocktails, and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. Anyone planning on attending is asked to RSVP in advance. More information is available on the organization’s website.

Local fundraising events like this often need a positive promotional strategy in order to attract the maximum number of attendees. A local printing company can be a priceless partner for creating eye-catching promotional materials. Flyers, postcards, and posters are suitable ways to spread the word through the community.

The date to mark on the diary for this event is Saturday, October 26.
