The Annual Holiday Open House represents the opening of the holiday shopping season in Petaluma. Business owners and merchants in the historic downtown shopping area are likely to advertise special promotions, raffles, and other activities with flyer printing, banner printing, and other services provided by local printing companies.
In addition to the various activities going on at the participating businesses in the area, a number of other activities are scheduled to take place throughout the day. Those in attendance can enjoy carolers, face painting, dancing, and horse and carriage rides. Entertainment will include the Bel Canto Quartet from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and the Petaluma High School Choir from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Each will be performing in various locations.
Several events and activities will be taking place throughout the day in the Putnam Plaza. Free face painting will be available, starting at 11:00 am, and Balloon Art by Paula Moors will be in the plaza from at 12:00 pm. Both activities will end at 4:00 pm. While the Open House in the downtown area officially ends at 5:00 pm, a number of businesses will remain open late into the evening to continue the festivities.
