Networking group hosts sustainable lifestyle social event

People interested in a sustainable lifestyle have the opportunity to meet with like-minded individuals at a social networking group called Marin Green Drinks next week, while also listening to a special guest speaker.

The objective of the group is to meet with other professionals who are passionate about the environment and global change. However, this should also be a great opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in an environmental field.

This social networking group provides a relaxed environment for people to mingle. The event is mostly unstructured but, next week, the Green Drinks group will have Allan Nichol as a special guest. Nichol will be discussing an environmentally friendly trolley system for Marin County. There will be a question-and-answer period, along with plenty of time to network.

While this is an informal meeting, this is a chance for people to make business connections and even find employment. A casual atmosphere gives people the chance to strike up a conversation with new and old contacts. For this reason, many will be probably looking to purchase digital business cards to give to prospective employers.

This ongoing group meets every second Tuesday of each month at the Venture Greenhouse, which is located at 30 Castro Avenue in San Rafael. Anyone who is interested in being green, including residents of Petaluma, is encouraged to attend. Drinks and light bites will be available for attendees.

The upcoming meeting takes place on November 12 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Those who would like to attend are asked to RSVP.
