San Diegans have the opportunity to receive a free blood pressure screening at locations across the county.
The objective of the ‘Love your Heart’ event is to encourage San Diego residents, including those in Oceanside, to be proactive with regards to their heart health. North County Health Services has partnered with San Diego County to make this event come to fruition.
Love your Heart is the focal point of the county’s broader wellness strategy known as ‘Live Well San Diego’. The three key components of the program are for residents to be ‘Healthy,’ ‘Safe,’ and ‘Thriving’, Over the years, the local effort has expanded to include supporters in health care, universities, and non-profit organizations.
The ‘Live Well’ organization uses indicators, such as life expectancy and food security, to reveal whether San Diego is on the right track to a healthy life. In addition, the group has seven main program areas to address health public.
With the blood pressure screening, the County and its partners aim to reach over 20,000 residents. No doubt the event organizers have used flyer printing to create a handout to publicize the event.
The event takes place on February 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at over 100 locations in San Diego County. Those in Oceanside can have a blood pressure screening at the NCHS Oceanside (Loma Alta) Health Center located at 650 Crouch Street.
