April 24, 2012 by Sarah
While authors and credentialed professionals who are considering the possibility of a book deal have a chance to learn more about how they can use speaking engagements to raise their local profiles, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce will be doing quite a bit to ensure that its members are getting a chance to discuss the issues that matter the most to them with this month’s Public Policy Committee meeting.
The action begins in Carlsbad where the public library is going to be hosting “Publishers & Writers Discover How to Use Speaking to Boost Book Sales” April 28th. Whether being used for professional branding purposes or as a legitimate means of making a second income, there are few better ways of establishing credibility than writing a publishing a book. What many aspiring writers fail to appreciate is that the job isn’t over just because there’s a book available on the shelf.
Covering everything from the use of print-based promotional material like flyer printing or poster printing to the fundamentals of using speaking opportunities to boost sales, this morning workshop will be starting at 10:00 am. For those who are either starting out or considering the possibility of writing a book, this is a great place to pick up some valuable information.
Just a few short days after the on May 3rd, the chamber is going to be hosting a Public Policy Meeting. As most working professionals are well aware, there’s no underestimating how legislation impacts the way companies can do business. Those interested in learning more can contact the chamber for more information.
