Oceanside community to gather at the Harbor
September 12, 2013 by Max
Bringing with them a weekend of excitement and entertainment, the Oceanside Harbor Days are back this month. Presented by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and Harbor District, the Harbor Days are full of events, foods, and competitions for all the family.
Athletic competitions include the Tiki Swim, encompassing a route from the pier around the shore to the harbor. A new creative event this year is the sandcastle and sculpture competition, open to teams of all ages. Musical acts include Jamie Beeman, Gone Blonde, and the New Riders Band. Various booths and vendors will offer food and drink of all varieties, crafts for the young ones, and face-painting. A beauty pageant and Polynesian dancing are highlights, along with a beer garden for any attendees aged 21 and over.
Vendor booths and sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses wanting to show their love for Oceanside. Working with a local printing company will help increase the turnout for the Harbor Days and show a company’s support for its community. Poster printing can attract attention to an attending group’s display and encourage locals to arrive in droves.
Interested Oceanside’s residents should come to the beach side of Oceanside Harbor on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. Events will take place between 9:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday. Parking is free and shuttle buses will take guests to the various venues and events throughout the weekend. For more information, visit the chamber’s website or call Scott Ashton at 760.722.1534 for sponsorship inquiries.
