Oakland focuses on girl talk

March 13, 2014 by

The executive Director and Co-Founder of the Girls Leadership Institute, Simone Marean, will present a seminar titled ‘Raising Resilient Girls’ in Oakland next week.

Sharing tips and guidance with parents and faculty on how to instill assertive self-expression while practicing healthy relationships in girls will be a featured segment.

Emotional intelligence in young girls will also be addressed. The dynamics of juvenile development in girls from pre-school through graduation will be discussed in depth.

Other issues covered include how and why girls can be aggressive towards each other; the pressures girls experience and steering them away from conflict; avoiding victimization; and implementing a communication plan at school and home.

Educational entities often have catalogs to list their programs and services, and catalog printing is best handled by a qualified and experienced print company. The catalog will generally list scheduled classes and workshops, educators’ names, bios, and specialties. Sponsors will often be included, which presents a great way to recognize the sponsors and show appreciation of their support.

The ‘Raising Resilient Girls’ presentation is scheduled for March 19 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Montclair Elementary School in Oakland. The event is for adults only and is free to attend. Registration is available on the entity’s website. Advance registration is recommended due to limited seating at the event and the anticipated level of attendance.
