Northridge cyclists to sample the best of local business
November 1, 2013 by James
In mid-November, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority will sponsor an exciting bike-riding event.
‘The Northridge Deli, Desserts and Deliciousness Ride’ will allow cyclists to enjoy a leisurely bike ride while stopping at some local establishments, such as The Original Weiler’s Northridge Delicatessen and Delicious Bakery. These businesses will discuss their recipe for a successful enterprise.
This should offer the perfect chance for Northridge locals to learn more about their community, while also forming an ideal opportunity for establishments to promote their business. They could consider contacting a local print company to make a flyer to pass out, or put up a banner along the event’s route.
Cyclists Inciting Change thru LIVE Exchange (C.I.C.L.E.) is the group leading the ride. Trained riders will lead the event and also go over safety and etiquette rules before leaving. Those interested in taking part should have a bike in good working condition. Although this event is open to all ages, kids under 18 are required to wear a helmet and children under the age of eight have to be in a suitable carrying device, such as a tag-a-log bike or bike trailer.
The event takes place on November 16 at Dearborn Park and finishes back at the same location. The ride will start promptly at 11:00 am but participants should meet at 10:30 am. They are reminded to bring water and a snack for what should be a day of great fun for everyone.
