Napa runs for a good cause
December 3, 2013 by Mark
This month, Napa residents have the opportunity lace up their running shoes and run for a good cause. The 2013 Reindeer Run and Rudolph Romp features three separate running events, and aims to make a difference to groups in the area.
The Reindeer Run has been organized to benefit KHOPE International, a non-profit organization providing assistance to people in poverty, both locally and abroad. KHOPE is an acronym for ‘Kids Hope over Poverty’.
The 5K and 10K both cost $27, while the one-lap run is for children in grades K-2 and costs $17. Registration can be completed online or at the Parks and Recreation Department in American Canyon. Fun run participants will take home a goodie bag too.
The City of American Canyon, located in Southern Napa County, is one of the event sponsors. Materials such as flyers have likely been provided by local printing companies to help advertise the run. Furthermore, local companies may invest in services such as banner printing to advertise their business during the event.
The event starts this Saturday, December 7, at the Wetlands View Area Trailhead located in American Canyon. Check-in is at 7:30 am at the corner of Eucalyptus and Wetlands Edge. Parking is available on Eucalyptus, and the run begins at 8:00 am. However, there is also an early check-in tomorrow from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mark’s Sports Bistro on 110 W. American Canyon Road.
