Napa celebrates Earth Day
April 3, 2014 by James
Residents of Napa are invited to celebrate Earth Day at a free event dedicated to the environment.
‘Earth Day Napa’ will feature live entertainment, children’s activities, games, and interactive classes. Valet bike parking will be available and eco-conscious services will be utilized.
The Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County is hosting the event. The organization hopes to educate the public about a sustainable lifestyle. With the money raised at this event, the coalition plans to help fund transportation needs for field trips. The outings must fall into the realm of environmental education and classes are limited to one trip per year.
In order to prevent waste, bottled water will not be available. Instead, participants are encouraged to bring their own empty bottles and take advantage of the water bar. Food, beer, and wine vendors will also be present. Due to the food, dogs are not permitted.
A variety of businesses will be participating in the earth-friendly event. It is probable the companies have used brochure printers to make a memorable and informative handout for their booth. Anyone who is interested in having a participant booth can download a registration form on the ‘Earth Day Napa’ website.
The Earth Day event takes place in Downtown Napa at Veteran’s Park located at Main and Third Street.
The celebration kicks off on April 19 at 11:00 am and continues until 4:00 pm.
