Business training and light entertainment ahead

Businesses who need assistance with the California Environmental Reporting System can attend the workshop on the subject next week.

The training will be presented by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and will provide multimedia training and information on how to create a CERS account, enter hazardous material information, and submit facility information.

This is a free workshop that takes place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 21, at the Norwalk Library, 12350 Imperial Highway, just 15 minutes from Los Alamitos. For more information, call John Vincent at (323) 890-4078.

For a little lighter mood, locals are invited to attend comedian Edwin San Juan’s show at 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, at the Brea Improv, 120 South Brea Boulevard.

San Juan is based in Los Angeles and caters to all cultures with his comedic style. He has performed for the USO and appeared on several Showtime specials. His performance on ‘The Payaso Comedy Slam’ has reached over a million YouTube fans.

More fun is in store when nearly 100 wiener dogs race around the Los Alamitos Race Coursein the 18th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals. The search is on for wiener dogs (also known as Dachshunds) to compete in the race, which will be held on July 20.

There will be a total of 13 races with the first beginning at 6:00 pm, and brochure printers may have been used to create an itinerary for the day. Call the racecourse for more information.
