October is the month to consider a new pet

October 3, 2013 by

Lancaster Animal Care Center and other animal shelters in the Los Angeles area want to alert community members that October is National Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month. They are spreading the word and hoping to connect some adorable pets with forever families.

The shelters have several events scheduled throughout the month of October. Anyone interested in finding a furry new family member can meet and greet their potential future pets at one of the events, or they can always visit their local shelters.

In addition to the many dogs of all ages and sizes available for adoption, there are still a variety of other animals ready to be taken home by new friends and families. Potential adopters who might be less inclined to take home a new canine companion are more than welcome to adopt a friendly feline or choose from several kinds of more exotic pets.

Local shelters care for several species of all sizes, and they are all in need of loving homes. Pet seekers can choose from small and snuggly rabbits to full-grown horses. More information about adoption services is available online. Many shelter websites even provide photos and updated information on the animals they have available for adoption.

While getting the word out online is a great way to draw attention to a cause like Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog month, there is a variety of additional options for attracting attention. Local print companies can produce high-quality flyers, posters, and banners that can catch the eye and pull in new visitors to events like those scheduled by the animal shelters this month.
