Holiday festival to bring the community together
November 20, 2016 by Lisa
The festival will take place on the Blvd between Beech and Genoa Avenues. There will be something that should appeal to everyone in the family.
A Christkindlmarkt (German Christmas market) will be offering a wide variety of items suitable for gift giving, including arts and crafts, food, and general merchandise. Booths will be set out along the street.
For the kids, there will be free train rides, arts and crafts activities at Santa’s Workshop, and sledding on real snow. Santa will be on hand and there will be a Christmas puppet show on Date Avenue.
There will also be light displays, wreaths, decorations, and holiday scenes. Visitors are asked to bring a new toy to donate to AVTA’s Stuff-a-bus campaign.
In addition, downtown stores and restaurants will be open to serve the public.
Those participating in the Christkindlmarkt may invest in signage or banners from their favorite Lancaster printing company to draw attention to their booths.
A Magical Blvd Christmas will take place on December 10 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Admission is free of charge. To get the latest news, contact the Parks, Recreation and Arts Department at 661-723-6077.
