Annual festival returns to welcome spring

February 17, 2017 by

The 68th annual Almond Blossom Festival is taking place next month in Lancaster, and will be presented by the Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce.

The festival is held on the second Saturday in March each year and celebrates the rebirth of the area’s almond blossom trees. A free, family-friendly event, it offers something for every member of the family.

There is a carnival with rides and games, a car show, and musical entertainment from a variety of local bands. Arts and craft vendors will be on hand to sell their handmade items, such as jewelry, paintings, clothing, and pottery. In addition, local businesses will be selling and showcasing their merchandise, while local community organizations will be providing information to the public about their programs and services.

Vendor booths are available for $100 for Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce members and nonprofit organizations, or $120 for nonmembers. Food booths, which are 10 x 20-feet, cost $260. Sponsorships are available from $150 for signs, up to $3,000 for naming rights.

Vendors must decorate their own booths and no doubt many will choose to invest in banners from a favorite Lancaster stationery printing company.

The Almond Blossom Festival will be held at George Lane Park from March 10 to 12. For more information about this event, or to become a vendor or sponsor, call 661-722-4811.
