Mayor Kathryn McCullough honored three local restaurants with trophies on Tuesday, September 18, as the winners of the Taste of Lake Forest event in August. The three winning restaurants were Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ in first place, the Outback Steakhouse in second place, and Miguel’s California Mexican Cocina came in third.
The Taste of Lake Forest event kicked off the Shop and Dine Lake Forest Week, which encouraged the promotion of local businesses and the engagement of customers. This was the second year for the Shop and Dine Lake Forest Week and more than 200 businesses in the Lake Forest area participated. Special promotional activities such as this, which encourage local businesses to advertise and run a number of special promotions and deals, often mean extra business for print companies in the area. Businesses that participate in such activities generally advertise special promotions with flyer printing, banner printing, and poster printing. Some businesses may even choose to use catalog printing to communicate to the public and raise awareness about deals offered during the event.
More than 200 businesses participated in the Shop and Dine Lake Forest Week. The Taste of Lake Forest served as the kick-off event for the week and consisted of approximately 20 restaurants that presented guests with samples of their delicious dishes. The event took place at the Foothill Ranch Towne Centre at the Food Festival area and those in attendance voted on their favorites.
Jessica Gonzales, who is the economic development manager for Lake Forest, said the events during the Shop and Dine Week were so successful that the program can be expected to return annually.
