Kwikset, headquartered in Lake Forest, has announced it will be continue to partner with Richard Childress Racing (RCR) for this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Additionally, the company will serve as primary sponsor and paint scheme for Childress driver Ryan Newman’s No.31 car during the Series’ Kansas Race in Kansas City on May 10. In an associate capacity, the Kwikset logo will adorn his car for every race of the 2014 series.
Kwikset is one of Hardware and Home Improvement’s(HHI) leading brands and specializes in home security hardware. According to HHI president, Greg Gluchowski, the sponsorship is one of a series of moves made by Kwikset to stay connected with its current and potential customer base.
The company sees its emphasis on safety and innovation mirrored in NASCAR and feels its partnership with RCR is a natural way to connect with NASCAR fans. RCR and Kwikset had a similar relationship in 2013, but this is the first year they will be partnering with Newman, a 15-year veteran nicknamed ‘Rocket Man’.
NASCAR fans are extremely loyal and eagerly scoop up promotional products featuring their favorite driver and his car’s number. Print companies in the Lake Forest area may find #31 and ‘Rocket Man’ becoming very popular in the next few months. Additionally, sports bars may increase orders for flyer printing to bring patrons in to watch the race.
