WomenSing celebrates the holidays

WomenSing is a musical group that will combines voices with the beat of a steel drum in a holiday concert at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12.
Directed by Martin Benvenuto, the show will be held at the Lafayette/Orinda Presbyterian Church, 49 Knox Drive, Lafayette.
In addition to holiday favorites, the group will also include Latin music. with songs from ‘St. Francis in the Americas: A Caribbean Mass’. WomenSing’s just released its latest CD, ‘Songs from the Old and New World’, which will be for sale at the concert.
Tickets are $25-$30 for general admission, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students. For information or tickets, call (925) 974-9169.
To see in the New Year, residents can also take a short jaunt over to Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco and enjoy a New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball accompanied by the San Francisco Symphony. The event begins at 8:00 pm on Monday, December 31, at the Hall on Grove Street.
There will be dancing on stage, champagne, and live music. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. with the concert at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $85 – $195.
A special dinner package is also available for $160 and includes a cocktail reception at 6:00 pm, followed by a three-course dinner at the War Memorial Opera House. During the intermission, an exclusive gathering will be held in the Loge Lounge with complimentary La Marca Prosecco.
