Lafayette Library and Learning Center will be welcoming an extraordinary speaker on during the week ahead. Tim Green, the former professional football player turned lawyer, author, and television personality, will be offering a child-friendly talk about the frustration and fun of growing up.
Since 1993, Green has published 25 books, including three non-fiction pbulications about his life and career as a player in the National Football League. The majority of Green’s novels are sports and legal mysteries that draw on his experiences in his two major careers, but he hass also written five novels for kids and teens known as the “Football Genius” series.
Writing and promoting the novels for young readers gives Green the chance to meet and inspire kids of all ages. His advice for kids includes tips on family, school, sports, friends, and achieving success. Many of his ideas are also available on his website.
The talk will begin at 6:30 pm this Wednesday, November 20, and run for an hour. Tickets for adults are $5 per person, but kids get in free. Books will be available for sale at the event, and Green will be signing after the talk. Seats are limited, so attendees are asked to reserve their places in advance. More information is available on the Lafayette Library website.
Promoting a local library event for kids and families can be made easier with a local printing company helping to create marketing materials. Posters and flyers can be posted around schools and across the community, and they are convenient to display on check-out counters.
