Spring camp among April activities
March 19, 2013 by James
The camp for children aged 5 – 12 years will run April 1 – 5, and is designed to promote physical activity and fitness, socialization with other campers and counselors, and conflict resolution. Activities may include trips to Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Seaside Lagoon, and will feature a trip to see the space shuttle Endeavour at the California Science Center.
Camp runs 6:30 am – 6:00 pm Monday – Friday and will be held at Central Park, 7821 Walker Street. Fees are $107 per week and include crafts, games, daily snacks, drinks and a T-shirt.
April will also see the introduction of David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize winning play ‘American Buffalo’. It will be performed April 3 – May 12 at the Gefffen Playhouse Gil Cates Theater, 10886 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles.
This play is about a group of misfits plotting to steal a rare coin collection. Friendships and loyalties are tested as the heist approaches reality. Tickets are $35 – $75. For more information, call (310) 882-6533.
Also in April, and sure to be the subject of promotional poster printing, it’s ‘Roaring 20s’ time at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center. On April 4, at 7:30 pm, guests will be treated to some of the best beer and wines in the city.
Admission is only $20 for this fundraiser, which is a preview for the 13th annual Rag Time Music Festival to be held in October. For more information, or tickets to this event, call (714) 738-6595.
