Two ways to make an Irvine impression

An event coming up a week today at One Park Plaza in Irvine will teach companies how to protect their brand and create a trademark to identifies their company without infringing upon another business. This event is designed for emerging businesses so they start off on the right foot.

The workshop will cover what makes a strong trademark, how to determine if the domain name and trademark are available, how to avoid accusations of trademark infringement, and how to protect a trademark. It will also cover information for biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

The guest speaker will be Susan Hollander of K& L Gates ,who has more than 20 years of experience including trademark litigation and copyright infringement. Parking and lunch will be provided.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, November 12, beginning at 11:30 am.

After the meeting, people can relax and learn floral arranging at 5:00 pm at the Center Club in Costa Mesa, located at 650 Town Center Drive. Local florist Tricia Barr will share floral secrets and raffle off some special floral arrangements.

This is also a networking event for WomanSage members, who can mingle and socialize and then enjoy dinner. Tickets are $30 for members and $38 for nonmembers in advance, while tickets at the door will cost $10 more. Irvine businesses can use postcard printing to let their customers know about important upcoming events like these.
