Strawberries sprouting in Irvine
March 14, 2013 by Mark
Tanaka Farms in Irvine is currently hosting strawberry tours – an offering that will continue right through to the month of June.
This is a great field trip for families and schools, and the guided tour will take 45 minutes to an hour. Guests will ride on a wagon pulled by a tractor for the tour.
Along with being able to see different types of fruits and vegetables growing, those on the tour will also get to sample them. The last stop is a chance to pick and sample the fresh strawberries. Guests will be able to take home one pound of strawberries in a basket.
Tours are available Monday through Friday by reservation only, but weekend tours require no reservation unless it is a large group. Tours run every 30 minutes from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm at the weekends. Guest should arrive 20 minutes early for check-in and instructions. Admission is $17 each and children aged two and younger are free.
Reservations are available by calling (949) 653-2100 ext. 204. Guests should bring their own water and wear closed-toe, flat shoes. The produce stand is open daily from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Similar magic is also currently in the air at the Musical Theatre Village located at 36C Mauchly in Irvine, where its showing of Aladdin comes to a close this weekend. This Sunday, March 17 will be the last day to see this Disney musical, so there might be some last minute poster printing done to promote it.
Admission is $12 per person. Closing night includes dinner and costs extra. For tickets or information call (949) 753-1996.
