A busy couple of days is about to get underway for business folk in Irvine, starting tomorrow afternoon.
A seminar will be held at 4:00 pm tomorrow, April 10, at the University Club at UC Irvine to discuss Small Business Innovation Research grants.
The goal is to identify six small businesses that will be able to apply for funding. OCTANE and the Henry Samueli School of Engineering are partnering to support these businesses through the grant application and submission process. The University Club is located at 801 East Pelatson Drive, Irvine.
On another business note, The Women’s Business Connections will present its spring mixer and expo at 6:30 pm this Thursday, April 11, at the Back Bay Conference Center in Irvine.
There will be plenty of exhibitors, raffle prizes and delicious holiday desserts. Guests are invited to come peruse the newest attire at the Fashion Show Fundraiser for the Women Helping Women organization.
Guest speaker Kelly Borgen, creator of Community Buzz, will speak on Social Media and Your Business. She has 13 years of experience managing clients at an advertising agency, and has launched and managed many different online communities geared towards the building industry.
Tickets are $30 at the door. Businesses that bring a raffle prize valued at $25 or more will be announced during opening ceremonies. The conference center is located at 3415 Michelson Drive in Irvine. Registration begins at 7:30 pm. For tickets or information call (714) 702-6876.
In this digital world, it’s important to communicate effectively with online and store front businesses. Digital business cards are one of the easiest ways to do this.
