Irvine Mayor’s State of the City address this month

February 22, 2013 by

There is plenty coming up in Irvine, starting with the public being invited to attend the Mayor’s annual State of the City address next week.

The address, to be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, will update residents on the city’s status, major accomplishments from the past year and plans for 2013. A public reception will be held prior to the address at 5:00 pm.

There are also only two months until the Irvine Junior Games. Coaches can begin signing up their teams now. Opening ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 19, at the Irvine Stadium. Everyone who registers will receive a T-shirt.

Track and field events include a bag shot, basketball shoot, long jump, and soccer kick. An expo will be held the day before (May 18) and will include games for all ages.

This is a fundraising event to support the Irvine Children’s fund which provides child care before and after school at 22 different elementary schools. A local printing company can provide expert advice on creating forms and flyers for upcoming fundraising events and community events.

As well as all this, free tax assistance is available for Irvine residents who made less than $58,000 in 2012. The program is available to taxpayers who work, live, or attend school in Irvine. Help includes completing the tax forms and filing electronically. The program is being provided in partnership with United Way of Orange County and will be available through April 15.
