Ice Skating breezes into Irvine

There’s nothing that says holidays like ice skating. The outdoor ice skating rink is now open at the Irvine Spectrum, 71 Fortune Drive, Irvine in the Giant Wheel Court located next to Macy’s and Nordstrum.

The rink will be open from 11:00 am – 10:45 pm daily through February 18, 2013. Tickets for toddlers are $12 and includes skate rental. Tickets for other kids and adults are $14 and $3 for skate rental.

Helmets are provided for free. A season pass is available for $129 plus skate rental. The rink is also available for private lessons and parties. For more information call (949) 456-6937.

Families who have a heart for animals and would like one for the holidays can visit the annual Home for the Holidays Pet Adoption Fair on Sunday, December 2, 2012.

Homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens will be available from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. The animals come from shelters seeking a warm, loving home for the holidays and beyond. In addition to the pets there will be an opportunity drawing and silent auction, baked goods for sale and advice from trainers and vets.

Admission is $1 and parking is free and located in the Oak Canyon Road parking struction. Handicapped parking will be located at the Irvine Animal Care Center, 6443 Oak Canyon Road, which is hosting the event. For more information call (949) 854-4646.
