Comedy class and music on the way this weekend

Plenty of creativity is on show this weekend in the area, nowhere more so than at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts.

The Irvine institution will host a ‘Creating Comedy Content Panel’ discussion at noon on Sunday, May 12.

Panel members include Michael Berryte of Los Angeles, who was discovered on YouTube where he is currently the editor of ‘Smosh’. He also hosts his own channel Belated Media.

Ryan Finnerty also works at Smosh as head writer and is a co-creator of the Smosh Babies cartoon series. Finnerty has written and co-produced two horror films.

The school is located on Mesa Road. Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to save their space. Any empty seats will be released 10 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Later on Sunday evening will be ‘Late Night Reading’, with performances from Snow Whites Poison Bite, Catching Your Clouds, Farewell My Love and Her Bright at 7:00 p.m. at the Chain Reaction, 1652 West Lincoln Avenue, Anaheim.

Farewell My Love has been compared to the music and theatrics of My Chemical Romance and Avenged Sevenfold. The group first arrived on the music scene in 2011 with the EP ‘A Dance You Won’t Forget’. It was eventually signed with Standby Records.

The band is comprised of vocalist Ryan Howell, guitarists Robby Creasy and Logan Thayer, along with drummer Chad Kowal and bassist Charlee Conley.
