Techie overload around Gardena

Guests can discover how Pose developed its award-winning applications for mobile media, and the lessons it learned along the way, at a seminar coming up later this week.
This seminar is not on how to build an application, but on how to look for what users want in an application, and how to design to a customer’s specifications.
The instructor is Dean Singh, vice president of engineering at Pose, and it will begin at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 8, at CoLoft, 920 Santa Monica Boulevard, which is just over 20 minutes from Gardena.
Also on a technical front, WordPress is one of the hottest new platforms for web design, and web-weavers can learn how to using it at 7:30 pm on Thursday, August 8, at Vlad the Retailer, 2153 West Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.
This class is geared towards artists and small business owners who are seeking new clients. The cost of the class is $20 and students will leave with knowledge on how to install WordPress and build a site that will attract and retain customers.
Taking yet another tech tack, seventh thru ninth grade students will no doubt enjoy the Wet Tech class at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 12 at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, 3720 Stephen M. White Drive in San Pedro.
They will explore local marine life and solar energy. Participants will learn how to build a remotely operated vehicle and then use the vehicle to explore ocean organisms. Registration fee includes a T-shirt.
For more information call (310) 548-7562 or visit the aquarium’s website. Many aquariums use brochure printing to let guests know about the animals in their care.
