Just 20 minutes from Gardena, the Staples Center will host the popular musical artist, Lady Gaga this Sunday, January 20.

The concert begins at 7:30 pm but attendees should arrive early to find parking and purchase souvenirs. Posters from a print company are sure to be a popular souvenir choice by concertgoers.

Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, the extremely popular Lady Gaga is a songwriter and singer who was discovered by R&B singer Akon. She was inspired to take the name Lady Gaga from the ‘Radio Ga-Ga’ song by Queen.

She studied at Julliard in New York and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her first album, ‘The Fame’ helped her become a household name, featuring the single ‘Poker Face’, which topped the singles charts in nearly every country and category.

Now an international pop star, Lady Gaga was dropped by Def Jam Records in 2005, just months after being signed. This led to her performing in venues and clubs on the Lower East Side of New York where she collaborated with rock bands and began experimenting with fashion.

In 2008, her single ‘Just Dance’ was nominated for a Grammy. In January 2009, she reached number one on the pop charts. Her most recent album is ‘Born This Way’ which was released in 2011. She has written songs for Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls, and New Kids on the Block.

The Staples Center is located at 1111 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles.
