The Broadway West Theatre Company in Fremont is present two one-act comedies at present, although their runs will come to an end next weekend.

The comedy ‘Laundry & Bourbon’ follows the giggle-worthy gossip of discontented small town wives Hattie, Elizabeth and Amy Lee, who are somewhat disillusioned by their marriages. The second comedy, ‘Lone Star’, is set in the back of a Texas bar and involves the husbands of Elizabeth and Amy Lee.

Tickets are $25 for general admission and $20 for seniors, students, and TBA members and include refreshments. Show times are 8:00 pm Friday and Saturday. The performance at 8:00 pm on February 14 is only $17 admission. This show is not appropriate for children.

The theatre is located at 4000-B Bay Street in Fremont. For tickets or information, call (510) 683-9218.

An alternative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day is with a romantic cruise from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from pier 40 in nearby San Francisco. This luxury yacht cruise will feature a gourmet buffet dinner and dancing to DJ music. The cost is $100 – $500.

Dinner will be Champagne chicken and Angus prime rib with salad, dinner rolls, rice pilaf, and fresh vegetables. There will be two boarding locations: Pier 40 at the foot of Townsend Street by AT&T Park in San Francisco, and Alameda Port, 2394 Mariner Square Drive, Alameda.

Valentine’s Day is known for giving cards to special friends and often represents a good time of year for stationery printers, who will be able to offer a wide variety of Valentine cards and greetings to choose from.
