Shenanigans in Fremont to be enjoyed by all
March 9, 2013 by Mark
March in Fremont always means that time for St. Patrick’s Day activities, of which there are plenty in the area.
The city of Fremont has ‘Leprechaun Land for Wee Folk’ – a life-sized board game made up of children and adults. The game board is filled with pots of gold, shamrocks, and those elusive leprechauns.
The event also features a magical maze and a talk on leprechauns, as well as leprechaun games and snacks. Admission is $10 for children aged 2 – 10. One adult can accompany each child for free, and additional children that are not between the ages of 2 – 10 or adults are $2 each.
Every child will receive a bag full of goodies. The event takes approximately 90 minutes to finish. For more information, call (510) 494-4349.
As well as this, the Fremont community services department is holding a summer job fair on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm for applicants to work in the recreation services division. Recreation supervisors will be on hand to answer questions. Employment opportunities are available in the summer programs, sports and camps, and at the Aqua Adventure Water Park.
Applicants should bring their resume and dress to be hired, since on-site interviews may be conducted. For more information, call (510) 494-4300 x1. The fair will be held at the Centerville Community Center.
Teens who would like to volunteer with the city can attend the Teen Leadership Academy and earn service hours for high school. Those who struggle to make an application could consult local printing companies, who may have forms premade for ready use.
