Pet Expo to follow leads into Escondido

September 19, 2012 by

Dog lovers and their furry four-legged friends are invited to the Grand WoofStock pet expo to be held at the end of the month in downtown Escondido.

The North County’s pet expo will feature dog-related vendor booths and flyball and agility demonstrations by the K9 Dog Park and Catchers on the Fly. Additional attractions include a K-9 display by the Escondido Police Department, an ‘ask a vet’ booth, and an ‘ask the trainer’ booth. Both booths will be staffed by professionals who will be able to answer a variety of pet questions on training and canine care.

Many of the restaurants will feature specials for dogs and their owners with outdoor seating and live music. Owners can enjoy chilled beer and wine while dogs can enjoy a cool bowl of water.

Fun activities will feature face painting for children and a photo booth for pooches at Dog Beach. In addition to specials, many local shops will also offer free dog treats, so it will seem like Halloween come early for the furry companions.

Partner in the event, Acacia Animal Health Center, will have a booth on the corner of Grand Avenue and Maple with free goodie bags for dogs, an event map of participating locations, a free raffle entry, and schedule of workshops.

The Escondido Humane Society will receive 10%of the net proceeds. All participating pooches must be on a non-retractable leash. Print companies may be involved in printing maps and informational pamphlets for this Saturday, September 29 event, which runs from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
