Get your skates on for curling class

Those at home on the ice can look forward to Saturday, July 14, when a “Learn to Curl Clinic” will be held at the Iceoplex & Fitness & Aquatics Center located at 555 N. Tulip Street in Escondido, California. This event will begin at 7:15 pm.
This is a beginners’ class for those wishing to learn how to curl and the fundamentals of the game. People who have not curled for an extended period may also find this course useful as a refresher.
Instruction for this event includes delivery, sweeping, ice safety, and direction on how the game is played and may include some hands-on practice if time allows. Equipment for this event is provided by the people at Curl San Diego. Participants will need to wear soft-soled, clean, fully-toed shoes, although as a rule tennis shoes are usually acceptable. Layered, warm, and comfortable clothing is also recommended as this is an evening event and it may become chilly. Advanced registration is requested, as class size is limited and people who drop-in may not be able to be accommodated in the course. This is a great way to get some physical exercise and to enjoy meeting and mingling with others interested in the sport. After the course, time has been allotted for a practice game, which should be fun for everyone.
Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote and advertise this fitness event to the residents and the surrounding communities. Cost for this instructional course is $25 per person. For more information about this event, please visit the Learn to Curl website or call 760-489-5550.
