Father’s Day Kayaking

June 10, 2012 by

On Sunday, June 17th, Father’s Day Kayaking will take place at Lake Hodges located on Lundy Lake Drive in Escondido, California. This event begins at 2:00pm.

This event is being hosted by Lake Hodges Park and all paddlers will meet up at the Lake Hodges launch ramp. After everyone has their kayaks in the water, an introductory paddling lesson will take place, so that all visitors are aware of safety rules and regulations, how to properly paddling a kayak, the importance of life jackets, and what to do in a crisis situation. After the introductory lesson, all kayaks will be launched and paddled slowly across the glistening waters up to the dam. This promises to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience for everyone.

While Dad and guests enjoy the their time on the water, all eyes should watch for the many species of mammals and birds that call Lake Hodges their home. Guests are reminded to bring a set of binoculars to see how many different mammals and bird species they can identify. Flyer printing and poster printing may have been used to advertise this special “Father’s Day” event. Bringing sunscreen is advisable, and you are invited to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it before or after the kayaking adventure. What a great time to give Dad his special Father’s Day card, after a relaxing trip down to the dam and back.

This is a rain or shine event. For additional information and pricing on this event, please visit Lake Hodges’ website or call the park office.
