Sequoia High School is to be the site for a series of workshops on utilizing Google to facilitate education.
The workshops begin at 8:30 am on Thursday, July 11, and continue on July 12. Workshops will end at 3:30 pm each day.
Participants will learn how they can use Google tools such as Scholar, Docs, and Drive to help students and teachers collaborate and create for school. Sequoia High School is located at 1201 Brewster Avenue, just 40 minutes from Dublin.
The Geo Educators Workshop teaches educators tips to get the most out of Google’s Geo technologies, such as Google Maps and Earth, Mars, Moon and Ocean. Tips will be given on incorporating visual thinking and learning how to use hands-on activities.
The YouTube for Educators Workshop will be presented by Jim Sill. He will explain how to use the site effectively and safely in the classroom, how to edit videos, and how to create classroom content.
Workshops will also be given on how to use apps scripts in order to automate data feeds, communications, workflows, and document management. This workshop is for those who already have some experience in the area and wants to go beyond the basics.
Two-day workshops are also available for the Google Apps for Education Certification Bootcamp for trainers. This workshop will help participants to pass the Google Apps for Education Qualification Tests.
Local printing companies can make the job of creating, printing, and collating handouts for workshops.
