Music, art, and exercise to see in the weekend

There will be a reception to meet artist Jennifer Perlmutter at 7:30 pm on Friday, April 19, at Innerstellar Yoga and Pilates, 2800 Adeline St. in berkeley, only 30 minutes from Dublin.

This 30-minute talk will cover Perlmutter’s journey into combining art with yoga and how doing so has helped her face her fears and challenge herself to grow. For more information call (510)649-1976.

Also on Friday, no doubt poster printing is in operation to announce the fact that Oleta Adams will perform at Yoshi’s Jazz Club and Japanese Restaurant in Oakland, also just under 30 minutes from dublin. Adams’ 1990 debut album, ‘Circle of One’, went platinum and spawned the hit single ‘Get Here’.

Adams has toured with Phil Collins, Tears for Fears, Luther Vandross, and Michael Bolton and has been nominated four times for Grammy awards. Her newest album, “Let’s Stay Here” will be released this Sunday, April 21.

For those in a more outdoor frame of mind, runners can warm up those shoes for the Om Run 2013 on Saturday, April 20. This race begins at 8:30 a.m. and includes 5K, 10K, half marathon and two-person relay half marathon (13.1) miles.
