Celebrate with Dublin Pride Week
March 20, 2012 by Sarah
From Saturday, April 28th until Saturday, May 5th, 2012 Dublin will be holding its annual Pride Week festivities throughout the community. This action packed week is filled with activities all aimed at rolling up your sleeves and helping to make the community green and the envy of other cities. This event is a family affair.
On volunteer day, April 28th, this event is open to the young and the old, and everyone in between and is a great way to pitch in and keep Dublin looking great. As part of this program you can choose to assist with beautification of the local schools and parks, aid seniors with their daily life and getting around or even cleaning up their yards or homes, participate in tree planting and creek clean up, lend a hand to a local non-profit organization, and then stop by the Dublin Lions Club for a free BBQ luncheon.
As part of this community program, there is a fitness challenge to get healthy by participating, food collections where participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods to assist the food banks to “Safeway” locations, a hazardous waste collection and compost giveaway, and the grand opening of the Farmer’s Market.
Print companies may have been really busy printing entry forms as the featured event for children is a poster and essay content for age’s kindergarten to twelve years of age. This event is spread throughout the city with various times and places, so please check the community’s website for exact locations.
