Taste of Downey returns with food and fun

Downey residents and visitors have an opportunity to taste the best the city has to offer in wine and food at the 3rd annual ‘Taste of Downey Arts & Wine Festival’.
The event is set to include live musical entertainment by classic rock band The Answer, as well as food from local Downey restaurants. The Answer has four albums and is made up of Dave Slater on lead guitar, Jim Searing on guitar and keyboards, Kevin Brown on drums, and Van Mosley on lead vocals. Local artists will showcase their work at the 738-seat Downey Civic Theatre. Admission is free to the exhibit.
Participating restaurants include local and chain restaurants offering a variety of Italian, Chinese, Thai, and Japanese cuisine, as well as frozen yogurt, Jamba Juice, hot dogs and hamburgers, so there will be something for everyone of every age to like.
Tickets for the Taste of Downey are $20 for 10 tastes and are available in advance and the day of the event by phone or online. Tickets are an additional $5 on the day of the event.
The event will run from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm and which will be held Thursday, September 20, at Downey City Hall. For more information call Kim Sodetani at (562) 904-7151. Posters and flyer printing are a cost effective way to promote festivals and city events.
