Los Lonely Boys coming to Downey

February 9, 2013 by

Los Lonely Boys will bring their ‘Texican’ style of rock music to the Downey Civic Theatre at the end of this month.

The Texan trio has been performing since the 1980s, first with their father Ringo Garza Sr., and then on their own. Henry Garza plays guitar, JoJo Garza plays bass, and Ringo Garza Jr. plays drummers. They all join in on the vocals.

Their self-titled 2003 debut album earned national attention when one of their singles went gold and they won a Grammy, leading to the group eventually being picked up by Epic Records in 2004.

They have since recorded with Carlos Santana and Willie Nelson and have appeared on the ‘Jay Leno Show’ and ‘Lopez Tonight’. Their newest album released in 2011 is ‘Rockpango’ (a Spanglish word meaning rock party) and was self-produced on their LonelyTone/Playing in Traffic Records label.

The group infuses a variety of music into its output and even has the Tosca String Quartet performing on a song.

Tickets are $30 – $40 depending upon seating area. The Downey Civic Theatre is located at 8435 Firestone Boulevard, Downey and the show is set to start at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 27.

Attending a live rock concert is the dream of many and there can be few better ways to remember a trip to see a favorite band than with a souvenir poster to catch that once in a lifetime moment. Poster printing offers the opportunity to give fans a memory of that evening.
