Los Angeles Times Festival of Books Tour

On Saturday, April 21, 2012 the Friends of the Library, Downey City, have set up a bus trip for the public to experience the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The bus will be leaving the Downey City library at promptly 8am and returning back to the library at 5pm. The Downey City Library is located at 11121 Brookshire Avenue in Downey, California.

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books features storytelling and writing workshops by more than four hundred individual authors, author’s panels, and writing lectures. As part of the excitement, there are book signings, poetry readings, and cooking demonstration all designed to entice and excite visitors. As part of this bus tour, participants will enjoy walking on the grounds at the University of Southern California and guests are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch or lunch money.

Due to the nature of the event, passengers on this tour must sign and submit a liability waver before boarding the bus. This event is a pre-registration event; therefore printing companies probably have the stationery printing completed and ready to go. Registration and liability forms can be picked up at the “Friend’s Shop” inside the library. This event has an enormous number of activities and is designed for people of all ages. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.
