Downey credit union reaches out to community

Financial Partners Credit Union, based in Downey, recently held two events to demonstrate its commitment to being involved in the local community, which led to increased engagement by its members.

The first event was a Rocket Festival held at the Columbia Memorial Space Center. Financial Partners was established almost 80 years ago, primarily for serving those in the aerospace industry. The credit union shares a rich history with the Space Center.

President and CEO of Financial Partners Credit Union, Nader Moghaddam, commented that the outreach efforts of the credit union have increased the trust and loyalty of its members, and also that of the residents of Downey and nearby communities. These include Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Members are primarily from the healthcare industry or are active or retired members of the uniformed services in San Diego County.

A member appreciation day was also held so that members could shred confidential material and recycle electronic waste.

In addition, over the summer, a Stand Down event was held in San Diego, at which a team from the credit union volunteered to provide free credit scores and reviews and advice on how to re-establish credit. This was most likely an excellent opportunity for the credit union to use booklet printing services to create materials about credit and the services that the credit union offers.
