Dana Points to business this month

November 21, 2013 by

Dana Point teens should find plenty of helpful information at the Business Ownership and Fashion Merchandising Workshop scheduled for this evening at Bold Girlz, 369 E. 17th Street in Costa Mesa.

The female-focused workshop begins at 5:30 pm and will offer many engaging and interactive workshops for teens about entrepreneurship and turning ideas into a real business. The session will give them the opportunity to see a successful business in action behind the scenes, and allow them to ask questions and get answers about how to get started in business.

Heading up the workshop is Cheryl Beck, CEO of Bold Girlz, a boutique and party place for girls with an emphasis on empowerment and self-esteem. Ideal for girls in grades 7-12, the cost is $15 and includes beverages and light snacks.

For the teens and up who are looking for a job, there will be a fair at 6:00 pm tonight at the Radisson Hotel, 4545 MacArthur Boulevard in Newport Beach.

Prospective employees will be able to meet face-to-face with hiring managers in business, sales, customer service, marketing, sales management, and retail positions. Those just entering the job market, as well as experienced professionals, stand to benefit from the event.

Applicants need to preregister in advance and bring 10-15 résumés, which can be printed at a local printing company. They should dress professionally and have a positive attitude.

Each company attending will give a short presentation of what they have to offer to applicants.
