Community Runs For Costa Mesa
April 17, 2012 by James
On Friday, April 27th and Saturday, April 28th, Costa Mesa is holding it’s 5th annual “Costa Mesa Community Run” with the kick off being held at the Estancia High School located at 2323 Placentia Avenue in Costa Mesa, California. This event is scheduled to start at 5pm.
The 5th Annual Costa Mesa Community Run is being sponsored by IKEA Costa Mesa and will be kicked off with a great entertainment lineup of live music featuring Dan Kirkorian, game booths, food booths, and other great activities, with flyer and banner printing possibly supplied by local print companies.
On Saturday, the event kicks off with a pancake breakfast followed by the run events leaving the Estancia High School grounds at the corner of Fairview Park. Proceeds from this event will benefit Costa Mesa Schools. This year there are three runs planned. The endurance run is 10 km, the regular run is 5 km, and the Family Fun Run is 2 km. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, as this is a rain or shine event. Organizers remind participants to bring hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a spare pair of running shoes. This year’s 10 km run is sanctioned by the USTFA, as an event open to recreational and competitive runners.
The first place male and female runners of the 5 km and 10 km runs will receive a $250 IKEA gift card, while second place winners will an ASTCS gift card.
