Rodeo season in Clovis has begun

April 3, 2014 by

Celebrating the completion of its first hundred years, the 2014 Clovis rodeo season promises to be the city’s best ever.

To kick things off, the Clovis Ranch Rodeo is scheduled for April 12, running from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. This event highlights the type of work normally done on a cattle ranch as local teams of four compete against each other to see who is best at roping, branding, riding, and other cowpoke-related events. Cowboys and cowgirls throughout the Central Valley participate in this annual event, which is free and held at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds, on Seventh Street east of Clovis Avenue.

The main event is the Clovis City Rodeo, which begins on Thursday, April 24 with the crowning of the Rodeo Queen during intermission. That evening, a live concert in the arena will feature Scotty McCreery.

After the next day’s rodeo, another concert takes place, this time with Tyler Farr. The Saturday offers the 100th Rodeo Parade at 9:30 am and more rodeo events, followed by the Clovis Rodeo Dance. On the concluding Sunday, the Special Kids’ Rodeo and the final rodeo events are held. Reserved tickets range from $20 to $30.

Banner printing services can work well for an event like a rodeo. Not only do banners inform; they also build excitement about an upcoming event. Flyers, on the other hand, can be dispersed through a city to provide the necessary details.
