Rock musical rolls into Clovis

July 7, 2012 by

From Friday, July 13 and continuing 29th, Next to Normal, the rock musical, will be performed at the Dan Pessano Theatre located at 2770 E. International Avenue in Clovis, California. This performance will take place from 8:00 pm – 10:45 pm.

The musical, Next to Normal, is a stunningly powerful musical that focuses on the mental illness that is occurring in an intense suburban neighborhood family. In this musical play, the emotionally manic depressant wife, Diana Goodman, allows her behavior to escalade out of control, as Natalie, Dan, and Gabe (her daughter, husband, and son respectively) try to cope with her bouts of suicide. There are also drug abuse, grief, and electroshock treatments to be dealt with and the fact that their lives may never return to normal or be normal.
This play, which contains adult language and subject matter, has won three Tony awards, a Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the Fresno Premiere. Tickets are only available through StageWork Fresno’s website. The audience will be drawn into this performance and no doubt find that they sympathize with the events occurring in the lives being portrayed on stage. This is a very touching, emotional piece and was a blockbuster when it appeared at the Fresno Premiere.

Print companies may have produced brochure printing to promote this exciting musical to the expected audience. Admission is $23.50 per adult and $18.50 per student. This play is not suitable for children and is recommended only for teens and adults. For more information, please visit the Dan Pessano Theatre website to call 559-289-6622.
