Local events kick off holiday season

The official holiday season kicks off in Old Town Clovis later on today with One Enchanted Evening.
This event will feature hot chocolate, carolers, and plenty of lights. Residents and visitors will be able stroll down cobbled sidewalks, enjoy horse-drawn trolley rides, and taste free food while surrounded by a festive atmosphere.
Usually attracting thousands of attendees when it comes round, festivities will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and admission is free.
November also means it’s time for the 14th annual Turkey Trot in Fresno to raise money to provide Thanksgiving baskets for families in need.
The race will be held on Thursday, November 28, at Mount View Shelter Woodward Park in Fresno, just 14 minutes from Clovis.
Last year, more than 100 families were able to enjoy a hot Thanksgiving meal thanks to the kindness of strangers who came together to participate in the race. Above all, it is a chance to get some exercise while helping those in need.
Walk in registration will be held at the Sierra Running Company located at 9447 North Fort Washington #106 in Fresno from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 23 and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 27.
The race will begin at 8:00 am on Thanksgiving morning. Racers should arrive between 6:15 am to 7:30 am to pick up their packets. There will be no registration available on race day. Many race organizers use banner printing to mark the beginning and ending points of their races.
