It’s all Greek this weekend

The 53rd Fresno Greek Fest will be held over the course of this weekend. Over 30,000 Greek fans are expected to attend the event, which will feature more than 40 different vendors, cooking demonstrations, art tours, and a kids’ play area featuring water slides.

This year there will once again be Greek wine tasting. Live entertainment will be provided through The Olympians, a Greek band, as well as dancing demonstrations. Shuttles will be provided from the parking area.

It will take place August 23 – 25, at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 2219 North Orchard in Fresno, only 10 minutes from Clovis. For more information, call (559) 233-0397. Admission is $5 for adults and seniors and children under age 12 are free. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the festival.

Also on the way, the Tower Art Taste tomorrow at 6:00 p.m will visit the Tower District. Participants should meet outside the Tower Theater located on the corner of East Olive Avenue and North Wishon Avenue in Fresno.

The tour lasts more than two hours, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Food tastings will occur at various locations along the route and local artists will be available to speak with. Tickets are $49. For more information, call (559) 392-4471.

Lastly, proceeds from the Fresno Association of Realtors’ Run with Realtors will be donated to the Community Food Bank. The run will take place at 7:30 am this Saturday, August 24, at Mountain ViewShelter, 7775 Friant in Fresno. Banner printing makes it easy to find local community events like these.
