Family fun aplenty in Clovis
October 17, 2013 by Lisa
Christmas is just around the corner, and there are several opportunities to come up with a unique gift idea this year.
Guests can create a special basket with items purchased at Clovis’ Glorious Junk Days event on Sunday, October 20. The event will take place in Old Town Clovis on Pollasky Avenue between Third Street and Bullard Avenue.
There will be all kinds of used items available for sale here, including antiques and collectibles, as well as the plain bizarre. For more information, call (559) 298-5774.
Also, Clovis families will enjoy the annual Fire Department Open House held each year at Fire Station #4.
This year’s event will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 26. Presentations will be given on fire safety, there will be hands on demonstrations, and an opportunity to meet local firefighters, win prizes, and even earn a free pumpkin just in time for Halloween.
The station is located between Shaw and Gettysburg Streets. For more information, call the fire station at (559) 324-2200.
Finally, safe trick or treating will be available for children ages 10 and younger at the Sierra Vista Mall located on the corner of Shaw and Clovis Avenues from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 31.
All participants may come dressed up but no face masks will be allowed on anyone older than age 10. In preparation, participants could create scary gift cards and have them printed up at a local printing company.
