Clovis in the mix for holiday musical events
December 17, 2013 by Mark
Clovis residents can enjoy some live entertainment this holiday season with a short trip to Fresno.
First up is Dave Alvin and an Evening with the Blues Bashers on Thursday, December 19, at Fulton 55. Alvin has 24 years performing as a solo artist before joining with the Guilty Women in 2010 and performing with his brother Phil. The show begins at 8:00 am and Fulton 55 is located at 875 Divisadero Street in Fresno.
This Friday, residents can enjoy ‘A Peter White Christmas with Minda Abair and Rick Braun’ at 8:00 pm at Tower Theatre, 815 East Olive Avenue in Fresno. They can then make it a triple play with a performance at 8:30 pm on Saturday, December 21 with ‘Big Brother: 80s New Wave, Dance Party’ at Fulton 55.
Performed by Strangelove, this theatrical performance will include visual programs, as well as music designed to recreate a Depeche Mode concert feeling. The show will feature the best of the band’s music.
For the kids, there will be an animal adventure jazz and tap class for preschoolers at 9:15 am on Friday, December 27, at the California Arts Academy, 4750 North Blackstone Avenue, Fresno.
An ideal way to fill in the two weeks of Christmas break, kids will learn how animals move and the sounds they make. This class is geared to children of ages 4 to 6.
The cost is $10 for Cal Arts students and $12 for unregistered students for both classes. Single classes are $7 for registered students and $8 for unregistered students. Flyer printing is an easy way to notify residents of events like these.
