Carlsbad to start 2013 on the run

The Winter Carlsbad 2013 Marathon and a Half may not hear the starting gun until January but it is open for registration now.

The event is part of the Half Marathon Triple Crown, which kicks off every New Year with the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon and Half Marathon. The second event occurs in April, with the La Jolla Half, before the final part of the series, America’s Finest City Half, finishes in August.

Runners participating and completing all three half marathons will enjoy a great sense of pride in accomplishment, in addition to being awarded a Triple Crown medal at the finish line area at the August event.

A special children’s event called the Kids’ Marathon Mile will take place on January 26 at Legoland Resort. Starting outside the main entrance to Legoland along Tyke Hike, the course will take children aged 12 and younger through a loop of the park. A diaper dash is also scheduled for babies and toddlers. The kids’ events are just for fun, there will be no timesheets, awards, or winner postings.

For large event series such as this, local printing companies often provide many print services to help promote the activities. Banner printing is a frequent request, as banners display well and attract immediate attention due to their size and hanging potential. Poster printing is also common, as posters can be mounted throughout the actual area of the event in addition to throughout the outer region and neighborhoods to garner attention and interest.

The winter run is scheduled for January 27, 2013 and more information, including registration forms, is available at the event website.
