Kids can start the week with Shakespeare
July 20, 2012 by Mark
Orem residents can get a taste of Shakespeare this Monday, July 23, as Shakespeare for Kids’ play ‘Much Ado about Nothing’ will be performed at the Orem Library, Utah. This play will begin at 6:30 pm and last for approximately one hour.
This is the last in a series of Shakespearian plays being presented as part of the Shakespeare for Kids series that are geared for children aged five and over. This is a family-friendly event that features an interactive version of Much Ado About Nothing, which is one of his well-known classic comedies.
This performance is presented by Becky and Joel Wallin from the BYU Youth Company, TYA Touring Children’s Theatre. Those aged four and under are invited to attend ‘Ship’s Cover’, which is taking place at the same time as the older children attend the Shakespeare performance.
The BYU Youth Companies mandate is to introduce theatrical performance to children at a very early age. This is accomplished through workshops and performances that provide the children with a lifelong appreciation for the arts. This BYU Youth Company has student actors from around Brigham Youth University who, after performing at BYU, spend much of their time touring for various libraries and schools in the area. These actors will perform in front of thousands of students before their tours end.
Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this event to children and their families. Admission is free and all are welcome. For more information, please visit the Orem Library website or call 801-229-7050.
