Football players should take note of the Get Recruited ‘Final Call’ event this Saturday, December 21, at the Rancho Cienega Sports Complex Stadium in Los Angeles.

This is the 3rd annual event to connect student athletes with universities and colleges across the nation. Players will run through football drills, skill assessments, individual skill development, and college entry information.

Players should bring workout gear, cleats, water and copies of their transcripts and plenty of digital business cards for recruiters. For more information, call (323) 503-5675.

Another chance to get active will arise with the Ugly Sweater Run on Saturday at 11:00 am at Los Angeles Historic Park, 1245 North Spring Street, Los Angeles.

Thousands of runners will be wearing their sweaters as they run the 3.1 mile course, which travels along city streets and parks. Along the route, there will be photo stations, inflatables, and holiday music to enjoy. Hot chocolate will also be available for runners.

Each participant aged 21 and older can enjoy two free Sam Adams beers. Participants should bring a new toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. Prizes will be awarded for the best real and best fake mustache (handed out at the race), worst sweater, best sweater, and best beard.

Also, ladies can prepare for the holidays with a free makeup workshop at 12:30 pm on Saturday at the Makeup Designory, 129 South San Fernando Boulevard in Burbank. The class will focus on creating smoky eyes.

Participants should bring their own makeup and brushes. For more information call (818) 557-7619.
